COSMETIC DENTISTRY
Invisalign
At Stirling Street Dental Clinic, we offer a range of orthodontic treatments to ensure that you can get the best possible smile. If you're unhappy with the appearance of your teeth but want an alternative to traditional braces, we offer Invisalign treatment to straighten your teeth.
Unlike braces, which use metal wires and brackets to straighten teeth, Invisalign moves teeth with a series of custom-made aligners (similar to retainers) made from clear plastic, so they are virtually invisible.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a modern orthodontic treatment that assists with the straightening of teeth without using metal brackets and wires. It's made of a virtually invisible, customised, and removable dental appliance called aligners. These aligners gradually straighten your teeth over time.
The Invisalign aligners are made from a non-toxic, medical-grade material made from digital scans of your teeth. This orthodontic treatment can be used to treat a variety of dental issues such as:
- Overcrowded teeth
- Widely spaced or gap teeth
- Crossbite
- Overbite or deep bite
- and underbite

How the Invisalign treatment works
Before your initial consultation, you will need to have your X-rays, pictures, impressions, and scans completed. Our trained and certified Align Technology dentists will evaluate your dental condition during your consultation and recommend a suitable orthodontic treatment plan for straight teeth.
Discuss your Invisalign treatment options with your dentist to evaluate the pros and cons of different teeth straightening options. Your dentist will then generate a treatment plan using the unique ClinCheck software by Align Technology. It shows the series of movements your teeth will go through throughout your Invisalign treatment. This allows you to visualise what your teeth will look like after wearing Invisalign clear braces.
Using the results from the ClinCheck software, our dentists will create a set of custom-made, clear Invisalign aligners specifically designed for you. Wear your clear aligners every day for at least 22 hours, only removing them to eat and clean your teeth. You will need to change your set of Invisalign aligners every few weeks to straighten your teeth gradually throughout the treatment process.
Visit us every six to eight weeks throughout the treatment duration so your dentist can check the progress of your teeth straightening and give you the next set of Invisalign aligners.
Benefits of Invisalign Treatment
Unlike metal braces, the clear aligners are not easy to detect, meaning hardly anyone will know that you're undergoing orthodontic treatment. This discreet alternative to metal braces can result in improved personal appearance and higher self-esteem.
Invisalign technology means that the clear aligners are made to fit into your mouth. This custom-fit means that they do not cause ulceration to your gums or cheeks.
Invisalign braces don't cause pain from being tightened each week like traditional metal braces do, as they are changed every few weeks to gradually straighten teeth.
Simply remove the clear aligners if you need to for purposes such as playing sports or musical instruments.
The Invisalign process can be much faster than traditional orthodontic treatment such as braces.

Frequently asked questions
Wearing Invisalign clear aligners can feel uncomfortable at first, but they should not hurt. You might notice pressure or tenderness for the first few days when starting Invisalign or changing to a new aligner. This is normal and a sign that the aligners are working. Any discomfort usually fades quickly and is significantly milder than that experienced with traditional braces.
At Stirling Street Dental, we offer two Invisalign packages: Invisalign Lite from about $5500 for minor alignment issues and Invisalign Full from about $7500 for moderate to more complex cases, with treatment times varying accordingly. A consultation is needed to work out the best option for your needs.
